Sound the alarms. Sexy, Smoldering,
Smoky Eyes are Red-Hot this season.
by Amy Palma at the SoBe Makeup Studio™
The smoky-eyed look gained fame in the 80's when the Robert Palmer girls sported slicked back hair, red lips and smoldering, intense eyes in his music videos. Nowadays, stars like Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez and Jessica Simpson sport this sexy look with glossy nude lips. Whether you're going clubbing, for a romantic dinner, or to a wedding or special event, this glamourous look will definitely take things up a notch (as Emeril would say: Bam!)
Follow these easy steps.
Prime the eyelid with concealer and blend in with a sponge to create a base for the shadow to adhere to.
Cover the lid with a medium gray shimmery shadow. The most common
mistake is putting too much shadow on and it gets all over the place.
Start with a little on your brush and tap off the excess, then apply over lid and blend well, then add more shadow for a more intense look.
Fill in crease with a dark brown shimmer or black and blend.
Fill in brow bone with a shimmery white or nude.
Line upper and lower lids with black pencil and blend with small brush or Qtip.
Curl Lashes and add 2 coats of mascara.
Since the eyes are so strong go with a nude lipstick and lots of gloss.
Sound the alarms – cause you’re smokin’ !!!

Q: My blush streaks and fades away during the summer time. How can I get it to last throughout the day? A: The best way to give your blush staying power is to layer it. By applying a blush tint first, it gives the powder something to adhere to, so it stays on. Trust me, this works like a charm.
Apply blush tint onto your cheeks.
(If you wear foundation give it time to set and be absorbed into your skin before applying the tint.)
Let tint set for 1 minute.
(tip: let it set while applying lipstick or eye makeup)
Dust face with powder.
Apply powder blush to your cheeks.
( I use this trick on outdoor photo shoots in Miami and it lasts all day.)
